Alice Paulk

Alice Margaret Franks Paulk, age 103 of Nashville, passed away peacefully August 28, 2013 at McKendree Village, Hermitage, TN, 15 days before her 104 birthday.The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Calvary United Methodist Church where she has been a member 65 years. Dr. Peter Van Eys and Rev. Laurie Hynson will officiate; her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening, September 3 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in Master's Commons at Calvary UMC, and at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning before the Service. Burial will occur at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1101 Lebanon Road, Nashville.Alice was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on September 12, 1909. She is preceded in death by her husband Jacob Orr Paulk, parents Jesse N. and Lura Mangum Franks, and nine siblings. A homemaker, she is survived by daughters Elba Ann Cole, Lois McConnell (Bob), Aleeta Christian (Floyd), grandchildren Paul Cole (JoAnne), Mark Cole (Amy), Jonathan Cole (Lisa), Robert McConnell Orr, Eric McConnell, Branch McConnell, Lea Scheuren (John), Daniel Christian and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her two sisters, Thelma Lockhart (Lewis) and Dymple Franks of Franklin, TN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
