Loving mother, Angelina Guardo, age 93, passed away at Alive Hospice Nashville on March 7th after a major stroke and heart attack on February 27th.
Angelina was born to Dominick and Angelina Gabbamonte on October 27th, 1928 in The Bronx, New York. A devout Catholic, Angelina sang in the church choir as a young girl.
While working in New York, Angelina met Alfred Guardo, fell in love, and pledged marriage vows on November 2nd, 1947. Angelina and Alfred had one son who they named after his father. Loving and caring for her immediate and extended family was Angie’s passion in life. After raising their son in Yonkers, Angelina and Alfred retired and moved to Florida where they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary before Alfred passed away on June 26, 2000. Angelina moved to Tennessee in 2013 to spend the remainder of her life near her son and her three grandsons: Matthew, Christopher, and Dylan.
With Angelina’s passing into the arms of our Lord, those left behind remind ourselves that, while this is the end of Angelina’s physical life on earth, it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her. Angelina joins her husband, Alfred; her parents, Dominick and Angelina; her brothers, Frank, John and Vincent; and her sisters, Madeline and Amelia, in heaven.
She is survived by her brother, Dominick; her son, Alfred, and his wife, Alice; her three grandsons, Matthew (Ashley), Christopher, and Dylan as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, and other loving family members.
