Bernice Braverman, age 87 of Nashville, formerly of New Port Richey, FL, passed away April 17, 2015 at the Residence at Alive Hospice.
She was a native of Brooklyn, NY and daughter of the late Martin Levinson and Frances Englehart Levinson.
Bernice loved her family. Just recently, she and her daughter relocated to Middle Tennessee from Florida to have all the family together again. Her free time was spent reading, watching baseball, walking and spending time outdoors. She always enjoyed sunny, warm weather and any location near water.
She will be best remembered as a servant to others, with a servant’s heart. She spent many years working with the Helping Hands program at Countryside Christian Church in Clearwater, Florida. Her passion was serving her Lord and family.
Honoring her life and cherishing her memory, she is survived by two children: Gale Braverman and Eric (Carol) Braverman of Nashville; two grandchildren: Rebecca (Michael) Petrelis and Robert Braverman; and five great-grandchildren: Anthony, Lilly, Samantha, Joey and Ethan Petrelis. At the time of her passing, she and the family were eagerly awaiting the arrival of a sixth great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 22 at 10:30 AM in the Chapel of the Alive Hospice Residence on Patterson Street in Nashville. Additional services will be held in Florida at a later date.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Alive Hospice Residence, 1718 Patterson St, Nashville, TN 37203 in Bernice’s memory.
