Brandy Lynn Rivers was born on a cold, snowy morning, March 5th, 1965 to parents Patricia Ann Driskill and Elton D Driskill in Clarksville Memorial Hospital, Clarksville, Tennessee. Surrounded by loving family and friends, she passed away quietly on January 30, 2026 in Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Nashville, Tennessee at age 60. Her death was the result of lifelong illnesses.
Brandy, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, grew to maturity in Nashville, Tennessee. She graduated from Ezell-Harding Christian School and attended Middle Tennessee State University. Brandy had a deep love for all of God's creatures and spent untold hours of her life feeding and caring for them. In younger years she was an avid hiker and camper and loved being in “the outdoors”.
Brandy was preceded in death by her sister Tara Lee Driskill and her mother Patricia Ann Driskill. She is survived by her sister Christie Ann Stafford, brothers Jared Cade Driskill and Aaron Thomas Driskill, Stepmother Kathryn B. Driskill, father Elton D. Driskill and cherished nieces and nephews.
Brandy literally received the gift of life (a donated live kidney) from her dear friend, Sandra Wilson and was grateful to Sandra to the end for that gift. As her parting gift to others, Brandy was able to pay this blessing forward, donating her corneas and skin tissue to those in need. She would also want her love and thanks expressed to her dear friend Kelly Scott, Kelly's husband David, and neighbor Keith McClard for the continuing care and help they provided.
Brandy will be cremated with her ashes being held for later interment by family.
A memorial service open to all will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 364 Haywood Lane, Nashville Tennessee on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at 6:30 PM CST. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to an animal shelter of your choice.
Brandy's sweet spirit can now soar freely, unfettered by ties to her earthly body.
