Charles Edgar (Eddie) Jones, Jr. passed away on December 10, 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee, on his 81st birthday, after a short battle with cancer. He was the beloved son of Charles Edgar Jones, Sr. and Lucy Weakley Jones, who preceded him in death.
Born on December 10, 1944, in Nashville, Eddie graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1962, where he was class president and captain of the basketball team. He went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University, where he was a proud member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He later earned his MBA from Emory University.
A pioneer in the field of investor relations, Eddie founded Corporate Communications, Inc. in 1975 and its affiliated company, Corporate Design, Inc. Prior to that, Eddie was a partner and director of equity research at J.C. Bradford & Co., during which time he was the youngest research director in the history of the firm. He also held the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. His leadership and insight extended to his 30 years of service on the Board of Directors of Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and membership on NASDAQ’s National Marketing Committee.
Outside of work, Eddie found joy in his family, his commitment to the community, watching sports, and traveling. He was a former member of the Nashville Sports Council that helped bring the Tennessee Titans to Nashville. A lifelong Vanderbilt sports fan, he relished watching all Commodore teams. Eddie was also past President of Buddies of Nashville and was also a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Those who knew Eddie will remember him for his infectious smile, consistent generosity, and his gift of unwavering calm and kindness.
Eddie is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Jeanne; son, Casey (Beth); sister, Barbara Eubank; stepdaughter, Jessica DeLucia (Craig); stepson, Brent Blackburn (Annie); and nephews Jim Dunn and Casey Dunn (Susan). Eddie also leaves behind eight beloved grandchildren, David, Henry, and Philip Jones; Daniel and Charlie DeLucia; and Barnes, Johnnie, and Vance Blackburn. He is also survived by many other cherished relatives and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Middle Tennessee.
Eddie’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the institutions he helped shape. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
