Clara Martin

Clara Chester Martin, age 85, departed this life on May 20, 2020 to move on to her next and best yet adventure.Clara is preceded in death by her husband of 63 yrs. Woodson J. Martin Jr. (Woody); parents Daryl Gilbert Chester Sr. and Blanche Richards Chester; brothers Daryl Gilbert Chester Jr.; James William Chester; and Mac Aaron Chester; sisters Martha Chester Baxendale and Mary Chester; and a nephew William Turner Caldwell.She is survived by her beloved dog Benji who is 14 and never left her side and a host of cousins in Robertson County. She is also survived by Woody’s nephew George Killebrew IV of Texas and a niece Katherine Killebrew Cunningham of Hawaii and their extended families.Clara worked for 34 years for Anesthesia Medical Group retiring at age 70. She was a long time dedicated member of Vine Street Christian Church, and volunteered in the Church office for many years. Clara was also a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution and the Colonial Dames of America.Clara will be missed by so many friends and family. She was a bright star to all of those who crossed her path. Our hope is that we will carry on her impeccable style, her wonderful sense of humor and her love of life. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. A celebration of her life and Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.Clara requested in her memory donations be made to the Nashville Humane Society, Willowbrook Hospice and Vine Street Christian.
