Craig Frederick Duncan, affectionately known as "Dunk" and "Granpy," passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, at the age of 72. Born on February 7, 1953, in Orlando, Florida, Craig was a man of remarkable character, devotion, and resilience. He dedicated 37 years of his life to serving the City of Winter Park, where he cherished his work, progressing from rope and saddle to mastering the bucket truck—a testament to his hard work and dedication.
Craig's love for his family was boundless. He was a devoted husband to Donna Duncan, who he often referred to as the "greatest catch" of his life. Together, they raised three daughters: Brittany Walters; Megan R Duncan and Desiree Duncan. And one stepson: Tommy W Hanson. His role as a father was pivotal, and he took immense pride in providing for his family and fostering their growth. Craig also held the title of proud Granpy to Kody, Tannar, Elijah Walters, and Noah and Emilia Uhter, with whom he shared many cherished memories.
Throughout his life, Craig held a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. He loved fishing, hunting, and camping, especially in Cherokee and various state parks. His passion for nature was matched only by his talent for working with wood. He found joy in building birdhouses and paddles for his grandchildren, nurturing both their spirits and his own creativity.
Craig's personality was affable and warm; he was not selfish and demonstrated an unwavering love for his family. Known for his camouflage hat, he encapsulated the spirit of kindness and generosity. He was a man who embodied the notion of "rags to riches," as he transformed his life through hard work and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones. His proudest accomplishments included rekindling his relationship with God and always finding ways to make things work for those around him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Duncan; his daughters, Brittany and Randy Walters, Megan R Duncan and Chick Gregg, and Desiree Duncan and Amie Bradley; his brother and sister-in-law, Glenn (Karen) Duncan; his sister, Linda DeCoursey; and his beloved grandchildren, Kody, Tannar, Elijah Walters, and Noah and Emilia Uhter.
Craig was preceded in death by his brother Stephen Duncan, his mother Rosa Duncan, his stepson Thomas William Hanson, his father Henry (Hank) Duncan, and his best friend Scott Cox.
Craig Frederick Duncan will be remembered not only for his work ethic and talents but also for the unconditional love he showed to his family and friends. He leaves behind a legacy of strength, warmth, and cherished memories that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
