Curtis Larry Adams

Curtis Larry Adams, 67, of Cordova, Tennessee, passed away peacefully, surrounded by love and held close in the hearts of those who loved him most.

Those who knew Curtis knew they always had a friend in him. Easygoing and dependable, he found joy in life's simple moments -- sharing a meal, watching a movie, listening to music, taking the time to find just the right greeting card for someone he loved, or carrying on one of the many little traditions and inside jokes that became cherished family traditions over the years. He never needed much to be content, as long as he was with the people who mattered most.

Curtis had a way of making himself part of the lives of the people he loved. Whether it was joining family gatherings, spending time with friends who became his own, or simply going along for the ride, he never asked for much beyond the chance to be together. His quiet presence, steady support, and willingness to show up will be remembered by all who knew him.

More than anything, Curtis cherished his family. To his loving daughter, Leigha, he was not only a father, but one of her truest friends, someone she could always count on. He made sure she always knew that, "Winter, spring, summer or fall, all you have to do is call," because she would always have a friend in him. That same love extended to his beloved granddaughter, Jordan. Being Jordan's Papaw was one of his greatest joys, and he never missed an opportunity to let her know how proud he was of her.

In his final moments, his last words were, "I love you more," a phrase that had become his signature goodbye to his daughter and granddaughter, words they will carry with them forever.

His family finds comfort in knowing that although they can no longer pick up the phone to hear his voice, they need only close their eyes to find him in every favorite song, every thoughtfully chosen greeting card, every shared laugh, and every memory they carry forward. In those moments, they are reminded that, no matter the season, they will always have a friend in him.

Curtis is survived by his daughter, Leigha, and her husband, Kyle, whom he loved like a son; his beloved granddaughter, Jordan; his sister, Jill; his sister Angie and husband Buck; his nieces, Christi and Katie; his great-niece, Alyssa, and great-nephew, Sam; his aunt and uncle, Mickey and Betty, and their children, Emily, Rachel, and Kerry; his aunt and uncle, Wilson and Kay, and their daughters, Janell and Malena; his aunt and uncle, Leigh Ann and Mike, and their children, Leah and Michael; along with many extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Larry Adams Sr. and Perrylynn Spence; his brother, Perry; his nephew, Adam; and his cousin, Samantha.
