Edward "Eddie" Gill, Jr.

Edward Cooper Gill, Jr of Nashville, TN, passed away on Friday, August 6th, 2021, after a brief battle with an aggressive form of pulmonary fibrosis. He was 75.

Eddie was born on February 5th, 1946, in Fayetteville, TN. He joined the Air Force where he met his wife Dotsy while stationed in Finland, MN. He proudly served in Vietnam. Eddie was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He loved his family dearly and had a special fondness for his grandchildren. They adored him. He was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed. He is now resting in peace with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and is finally reunited with Dotsy.

Eddie is survived by his daughters Lori Gill of Nashville, TN and Amy Powers (Dave) of Knoxville, TN; his sons Cooper Gill (Lindsey) of Spring Hill, TN and Bryan Gill (Amanda) of Chapel Hill, TN; his grandchildren Cameron Swihart, Alyssa Powers, Aidan Powers, Lily Gill, Tara Gill, Ashley Gill, and Logan Gill; his sisters Gail Sanders of Nashville, TN, Peggy Foster (Robert) of Petersburg, TN, and Jane Murray (Joe) of Jacksonville, FL; his brother John Gill (Lisa) of Anniston, AL, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Margaret Gill of Petersburg, TN, and his wife of 40 years, Dorothy (Dotsy) Louise Gill.

Memorial services will be held at Petersburg United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 14th at 11am. A visitation before the service will begin at 10:30am. The family will be there to welcome friends and relatives.
