Emily Thomason

Emily Thomason, age 23 of Collierville, TN, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2015 at her current residence in Old Hickory, TN.Emily was born January 14, 1992 in Memphis, TN and was the daughter of Jim Thomason and Melissa Haynes Thomason.She was a graduate of Briarcrest Christian School and attended the University of Tennessee Chattanooga (UTC). She was an outstanding dancer and took part in the dance teams at both schools, excelling with her talent as a member of the UTC Sugar Mocs.Emily was a free spirit. She loved being around people and was quickly liked by everyone. Her athletic ability was evident in her passion for dancing and being outdoors. Her funny, sometimes quirky, sense of humor kept people laughing and smiling.When asked to describe Emily, her family quickly answered, "Beautiful." The word clearly describes every aspect of her life. Emily was known for loving the idea found in the words, "Let Your Soul Shine."In addition to her parents, Emily is survived by her brother: Brent Thomason; maternal grandparents: Linda & Don Diguette; and boyfriend: Kyle Cunningham. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Loyce and Lester Thomason and maternal grandfather: James W. Haynes.Her family will visit with friends on Saturday, March 28 from 12:30 until 2:30 PM at the First Baptist Church, 1106 Hadley Ave, Old Hickory, TN 37138. Services celebrating her life will begin at 3:00 PM at the church.
