Jacqueline White

Jacqueline “Jackie” Dianne White left this earthly world on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at the age of 67.

Jackie was born September 2, 1956, in Nashville, TN, to William Cleveland “Petie” Morris, Sr and Louise Etheridge Morris. They made their home in Nashville and welcomed her brother, William Cleveland “Pete Jr.” Morris, into the family on September 9, 1967. She always thought of herself as his second mother and received the necessary “training” to become a mother of her own when on October 19, 1972, Joseph Charles White IV was born and then again on March 28, 1975, when William Jerad White was born. She was married to the boys’ father, Joseph Charles White III, from 1972 until they divorced in late 1994. She later became the longtime partner to Thomas Eugene “Gene” Piper. They made their home at his family homestead in Whites Creek, TN.

Jackie always took great pride in being a mother and grandmother to her two sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren. But she was also proud to provide that motherly love to many extended family members and friends.

She also had a deep love for Harleys, Pepsi, the water, yard sales, cooking and Kentucky Wildcat basketball. You’d likely have found her in the pool, on the back of Gene’s motorcycle or in her recliner watching a Kentucky game with a Pepsi in hand.

In her younger years, she was employed as cafeteria staff at Tuckers Crossroads School in Lebanon where her boys attended school, KFC in Lebanon working alongside Joe and finally a janitor at TVA in Gallatin. She took great pride in her work and was always a hard worker. Her ability to stay in the workforce was taken away after a car accident left her disabled. Jackie tried to not let her chronic back issues and pain knock her down and managed to still live a full life.

Jackie is survived by her two sons, Joe White and Jerad White (Crystal); bonus daughter, Niki Barber; grandchildren, Amber Jordan (Hunter), Ethan White (Abby), Calvin White and Brycen White; bonus grandchildren, Taylor Kay (Michael) and Braxton Barber; great grandchildren, Ava Jordan, Natalie Jordan and Demi Jordan; bonus great grandchildren, Willow Barber, Atticus Kay and Atlus Kay; aunts, Juanita Bostian (Harold) and Alveda Himes; nephew, Jason Head (Amy); nieces, Danielle Morris Grimes (Damian), Louise Cumby (Mackenzie), Beatrice Henley (Shawn); longtime partner, Gene Piper; special lifelong friend, Carol Murphy Glidewell; special son, Jeremy Murphy (Amy); special grandchildren, Hunter Murphy (Morgan) and Jett Murphy and a host of cousins, great nieces and nephews and friends.

Jackie is preceded in death by her parents, W.C. “Petie” Morris and Louise Etheridge Morris; brother, Pete Morris; half brother, Alan Dotson; nephew, Jason Brown; aunt, Loudine Mosley; uncles, Henry Himes, Oacie “Lit” Mosley, William Ray “Sam” Etheridge, Bobby Lee Etheridge, Sr and Gene Morris; cousins, Robert Etheridge and Bobby Etheridge and special son, Johnathan Murphy.

Jackie’s wishes were for cremation with interment of ashes at Ebenezer United Methodist Church Cemetery alongside her parents and brother in New Johnsonville, TN.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the home of Carol Murphy Glidewell from 12 - 4 pm.
