James (Jimmy) E. Nuckoles, 59, passed away on September 11, 2026 in Nashville, TN. Currently living in Portland, TN, he was born in Stuarts Draft, VA, and, also resided in Waynesboro, VA.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Elizabeth (Beth) Nuckoles, his mother Freda, of Stuarts Draft, VA, his sister, Sue Barchers of Waynesboro, VA, brother Robert and his wife Cindy of Stuarts Draft, VA, and sister-in-law Barbara Waite and her husband Lew, of Kalkaska,MI, numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He is also survived by his beloved cat, “Bug”.

Jim was preceded in death by his father William (Bill), his brother Bill Scott, his sister, Debbie and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Nira Campbell.

He was a 1985 graduate of Riverheads High School and attended Blue Ridge Community College where he earned several diplomas in the Electronic Servicing field. Jim was a Dallas Cowboys and Va. Tech football fan through and through. He loved playing pinball and throwing darts. He was a member of the Shenandoah Valley Dart league in the 1990’s.

Following cremation, a Celebration of Life will be held at Stuarts Draft Park, 96 Edgewood Lane, Stuarts Draft, Va 24477, on Saturday, September 26, from 1:00pm until dusk.
