James Summers

November 8, 1967 — August 19, 2018

James Robert Summers, known to many as "Dallas" or "T," died on August 17 th , 2018, in his home, in Nashville, TN, at approximately 11:30 a.m., at the age of 50. He suffered from Sudden Cardiac Arrest, which lead to the result of Brain Death. He was born in Seattle, WA, on November 8 th , 1967, to where he lived the majority of life, but resided for the last 15 years in Nashville, TN. He survived by his wife Melinda "Mindy" Summers (of 22 years), and his two daughters Justine Lucille Summers and Courtney Jameson Summers. He spent the majority of his years in law enforcement as a security officer, where he was able to do what he loved most; protecting and giving to others. There are truly no amount of words that can do justice at describing the type of man that he was. To him, life was meant to be enjoyed, with his words of wisdom, his humor and laugh, his struggles, and the way he considered everyone family. Those who knew him and loved him were able to do just that; enjoy life with him and being apart of it. He was the type of person who would give the shirt off his back or give his last five dollar in his pocket if it meant that someone could eat. Though he wore many scars of his childhood, suffering it never tarnished the goodness and kindness of his heart. Though in the end his heart failed against him, it never failed against others. He also believed in the words: Improvise, Adapt, and Overcome. To which he lived by from his days as a United States Marines and then apart of the United States Special forces. Semper-fi he used these words as a lesson to teach others that you can overcome anything in life as he himself had to do many times. James also had enjoyed many hobbies and life adventures including: Fishing, Camping, Road Trips, Collecting knives and swords, and going to Swap meets and Flee markets. He loved everything Horror, and had a passion for cowboy boots and hats, and country music tied in with a little bit of old time rock and roll. James was also an organ donor. To those who had the incredible honor to call him either: Husband, Father, Brother or Friend; knows that they have lost a very important piece of their hearts. Though, it is not fair that his life and time on this earth was short; the memories that he is apart of and the mark that he left on this world through those he loved, will be a legacy that will continue to live on. R.I.PA memorial service will be held at a later date at the family's residence. To which those who are invited will be given the chance to pay their respects and to say their final goodbyes. Also, memorial donations can be given through the "In Memory of James Summers," GoFundMe page, or by mail, or in person. Every kind word, thought, and/or prayer for the family is also greatly appreciated.
