Kristie Marie Patterson

The staff of Nashville Funeral and Cremation is honored to serve the Patterson family however saddened to note the passing of Kristie Marie Patterson, age 55 of Clarksville, Tennessee.

Kristie Marie (Hembrey) Patterson, 55, formerly of Hickory Grove, Arkansas, passed away along with her husband, Lester Shannon Patterson, on Saturday, November 22nd in their home in Clarksville, Tennessee. She was born on August 9, 1970 in Newport, Arkansas to Jack and Sandy Hembrey.

Kristie was a 1988 graduate of Tuckerman High School where she was involved in several activities including being a member of the Bulldog basketball team, being active in the Music Club, and was a chosen member of Homecoming Courts. After graduation, she attended ASU-Newport and obtained her LPN license.

Kristie was an enthusiastic naturalist, loving to garden, fish, and care for native bird species. Animals were her great passion, and she was a dedicated pet mother, always tenderly caring to her precious dogs, especially Lexi, Gabby, and Angel. She always had a keen eye for the overlooked—both in people and creatures. She possessed a sharp and inquisitive mind and was an avid reader, while also having a joyous sense of humor and quick wit. Another one of her great passions was to travel. Some of her favorite trips included walking the Milford Trek in New Zealand, exploring Alaska, and hiking in the Alps. She especially enjoyed her years living in the Rocky Mountains and in Germany and her many explorations there.

Kristie is survived by her parents, William Jack Hembrey and Sandra Kay (Cheshier) Hembrey of Hickory Grove, Arkansas, one brother, Shea Hembrey, currently living in Lubbock, Texas, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is also survived by many precious and loyal friends who will cherish their shared past experiences and adventures.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Theodore Lee Cheshier and Violet Joaquin (Burgess) Cheshier of Hickory Grove, Arkansas and paternal grandparents, William Jack Hembrey and Belle Zora (Davis) Hembrey of Elgin, Arkansas and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kristie’s family plans to host a celebration of her life in the spring.
