Larry Fullam

Larry Fullam (former bass player, featured vocalist and background singer for George Jones, Bill Anderson’s Po’Boys, Connie Smith, Tex Ritter, Johnny Duncan, Tommy Cash & Charlie Louvin) bravely fought pancreatic cancer since September. He and wife Diane Jordan (former singer and Columbia Records artist who appeared frequently over 20 years on The Ralph Emery Show) celebrated their 43rd anniversary on December 19, 2014.Larry left music in 1990 to become a professional coach driver for Nitetrain Coach, All Access Coach, Music City Coach and Roadhouse. He was driver for tours with Billy Ray Cyrus, Chris LeDoux, Glen Campbell, Beyonce, Aerosmith, Vince Gill & Amy Grant, Adele, James Taylor, Coldplay, Emmylou Harris, Charlie Daniels, Don Henley, Alabama, del Amitri and many more before retiring in 2012.Born in Leicester, NC, on July 19, 1941, Larry was raised in the Blue Ridge Mountains. He sang and played bass with his own band at the age of 14, then toured France and Germany while with Special Services in the Army. He and his folk group, the Kinsmen, won first place in the Communications Zone Talent Competition and second place in the European Army Command Talent Competition.After the Army, Larry moved to Nashville, where he quickly began working for major entertainers. He recorded two albums with Bill Anderson’s Po’ Boys, playing bass and featured as vocalist on “You Gave Me A Mountain” and “These Are The Ways I Love You.” He was part of Anderson’s syndicated television show for five years. Larry’s voice earned encores at major venues with Anderson: Knott’s Berry Farm, the Grand Ole Opry, Disneyland and Independence Hall.He encored at the London Paladium with the George Jones Show. His soaring voice can still be heard by those searching “Larry Fullam” on YouTube.A kind man who never refused to help a friend, Larry was a NASCAR enthusiast and a member of the Nashville Corvette Club, winning several trophies with his custom-built red Mako-Shark Corvette.Larry is survived by his loving wife, Diane; brother, Don (Willie) Fullam of Mills River, NC; sisters, Faye Pitts of Asheville, NC, and Gail Redmond of Brevard, NC; nieces, nephews, and countless friends.He was preceded in death by parents, Fred and Bonnie Fullam, and siblings Luther Fullam and Ann Reece.Following cremation, a Celebration of Life service will be held, with the date and time to be announced later on Diane Jordan’s Facebook site.Both Larry and Diane send heartfelt thanks to the many friends and relatives who provided support and love during this difficult time and to the wonderful staff at Alive Hospice, Madison Campus.At Larry’s request, please send any memorial donations to the Humane Society of Sumner County, TN, where they adopted Bentley, their beloved cat.NASHVILLE FUNERAL AND CREMATION 625-256-1605
