Martha Green

Martha Jane Starnes Green, age 83, of Hendersonville, TN, passed away quietly in her sleep, surrounded by her children, on Feb. 10, 2022. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 19th at First United Methodist Church in Hendersonville. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00am and the service will start at 11:00. Martha was born in Madison,TN and raised her family in Hendersonville. She is preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Hazel Starnes, and by sisters Mildred Starnes and Ann Harrell. Martha is survived by four children: Shane Green, Chris Green, Alecia Green Meador, and Fred Green. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Martha was an active member of both City Road and First United Methodist. She sang in the choir for many years. Martha’s interests were cooking, reading, crossword puzzles, knitting, music, singing, and spending time with her family. She was a homemaker and started working late in life, and retired from NFIB in Nashville.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville.
