Peter “Pete” Michael Hoppie, age 62, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, surrounded by those he loved most. His life was defined by his deep love for people, his devotion to family, and his commitment to serving others.
A devoted husband, Pete Hoppie, shared a life of love, faith, and partnership with his wife, Anita Woolwine. He was a proud and loving father to his children, Paige Medynskyj (Vincent) and Bradley Hoppie (Candice), always encouraging them with steady guidance, humor, and unconditional support. His greatest joy was being “Grandpa,” a role he embraced wholeheartedly, finding endless happiness in time spent with his grandchildren.
Pete Hoppie never met a stranger. He had a genuine interest in people from all walks of life and believed deeply in compassion, generosity, and service. His philanthropic heart was especially drawn to supporting military members, veterans, and first responders. He gave freely of his time, resources, and encouragement, believing it was an honor to support those who sacrifice for others.
Whether through quiet acts of kindness, mentorship, or charitable giving, he lived his values daily and left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. His legacy is one of love, integrity, and selfless service.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Anita Woolwine, daughter Paige Medynskyj (Vincent), son Bradley Hoppie (Candice), brothers Pat Hoppie, John Hoppie (Roxanne), Jay Hoppie (Maryellen), grandchildren Ethan Medynskyj and Lincoln Medynskyj, his loyal service dog, Grace, extended family, and a wide community of friends who will miss him deeply and carry his example forward.
He is preceded in death by the loving mother of his children, Tammy Joyce, his parents Jay and Bernadine Hoppie, and brother Paul Hoppie (Georgine).
Honorary pallbearers Tom O’Connor, Tyler Reeve, Stephen Barker Liles, Stevie Monce, Eric Gunderson, Storme Warren, and Jay Choate.
A memorial service will be held on December 27, 2025, from 1:30PM to 4:30PM at Cooper’s Hawk in Wheeling, IL, followed by a celebration of life in Houston, TX, in January 2026. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, honoring Pete Hoppie’s lifelong commitment to service and generosity.
Though he is no longer physically with us, his love, values, and spirit will continue to live on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.
