Phillip William Panthofer

Phillip “Philly” William Panthofer, 36, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee, surrounded by the love of his family.

Phillip was born on October 16, 1989, in Montgomery, Alabama, to William “Bill” Panthofer and Sandra “Sandy” Wall. He grew up in Jackson, Tennessee, where he built lifelong friendships and became known for his quick wit and genuine kindness. Phillip dedicated 13 years of his career to Mill Masters.

To know Phillip was to love him. He had an unmatched sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. His courage, optimism, and ability to find joy in everyday moments inspired those around him. He enjoyed playing disc golf, listening to podcasts, placing the occasional sports bet, painting, and never passed up the chance for a sushi lunch date with the people he loved. His unforgettable sense of humor, kind heart, and fearless courage left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Phillip is survived by his loving father, William “Bill” Panthofer; his stepmother, Nice Panthofer; his sister, Anne Devers (Brandon); his brother, Michael Panthofer (Haley); his step-sister, Anna Crockett; his step-brothers, Michael Crockett and David Crockett; his aunts and uncles, Betty and Steve Helland, Bob and Nancy Panthofer, Pam and John Haugh, Tim and Kristy Panthofer, Mark and Dori Panthofer, Denise and Dave Statz, and Greg Wall; his grandmother, Janice “Jan” Wall; and his cherished nieces and nephews, Abigail “Abby,” Evan, Sawyer, and Bennett, all of whom brought him tremendous joy.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Sandra “Sandy” Wall; his grandfather, Ulric “Bill” Wall; his grandfather, Ernest “Ernie” Panthofer; and his grandmother, Anne “Bunny” Panthofer.

A visitation will be held on August 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson, Tennessee. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m.

Phillip’s life was a testament to resilience, humor, and unconditional love. Though his time with us was far too short, the joy he brought into the lives of others will endure forever. We will never forget Phillip—his unforgettable sense of humor, kind heart, fearless courage, and witty personality. He will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to support Marfan syndrome research through the laboratory of Dr. Mary Burchett. Mary, a lifelong family friend and devoted member of the Catholic community, leads a nationally recognized Marfan syndrome research program. Donations made in Phillip’s memory will directly support ongoing research, and she has graciously shared that she will provide updates on how memorial gifts are used.
