Reva Showalter

SHOWALTER, Reva Mercedes, born in Dayton, OH June 23, 1916 of White House, TN formerly of Arden, NC, passed quietly into the arms of Jesus May 18, 2013 at the age of 96. She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ralph Edward Showalter, and sister, Madelyn Coy; Survived by sons, Ralph Edwin Showalter, and Ronald Lee Showalter; daughters, Sandra Jean Showalter, and Sharon Lynn McLean; A graduate of Stivers High School, she attended The Art Institute in Dayton, OH. An active artist throughout her life, she was recognized internationally for her work. She and her husband were life members of Rosscraggon Woods of Arden, NC. A Memorial Garden was established in Royal Pines in memory of their service. She was a member of Arden First Baptist Church until relocating to White House TN, where she attended Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held Thursday May 23, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Greenbriar, TN with Pastor Todd Kelly officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. The interment will take place at Shepherd Memorial Park in Hendersonville, NC. on Saturday May 25th at 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow at 3:30 p.m. for friends and family.
