Robert Allen HigdonMarch 20, 1945 to June 19, 2014Robert (Bob) Allen Higdon went peacefully home to Jesus on Thursday, June 19, 2014 in Nashville. He was 69. His spirit is carried on by a multitude of cousins and an extended family of relations, friends, and neighbors from all walks of life.Known as "Uncle Bob" to much of the family, he is fondly remembered for his generous, friendly nature, and the way he loved and accepted people just as they were. We loved that he lived simply, marched to the beat of his own music, and refused to conform to society's norms, believe everything he read or heard, or become a slave to fashion.Adventures with Uncle Bob often included a bargain-hunting trip to the Flea Market (or four) topped off with a meal at the local Chinese buffet. He enjoyed home-cooking, hunting, fishing, photography, and the ladies. He loved animals his whole life, never met a dog he didn't like, and up until his last breath he was asking about the welfare of his kitty whose name is too racy for publication.A 32-year Ford Motor veteran and a Mason, we will miss Uncle Bob's wisdom, sense of humor, and his rich, deep belly laugh. He is predeceased by his father, Charles Robert Higdon, his mother, Anna Pearl Wiseman Higdon, and his much beloved cousin (whom he treated as a brother and best friend), Joseph Albert Rueff. We will be celebrating a life beautifully lived with a memorial service at BuechelUnitedMethodistChurch on Friday, June 27, 2014, at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Humane Society in his name.
