Roger L. Proctor Jr, 83, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on January 7, 2026.

Roger was born on June 28, 1942, in Los Angeles, California, where his father was stationed in the Army. The family later moved to Columbia, Missouri. He graduated from University of Missouri with a degree in mathematics and was a member of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. While serving as a Captain in the Air Force, he met Marjorie C. Harrison and they were married in 1966.

After completing his service at Strategic Air Command, he began his accounting career with Ernst & Ernst and retired as a partner of Byrd, Proctor & Mills. As a CPA, he was dedicated to his work and to his clients, but he also shared a devotion to golf, reading, music, bridge, crossword puzzles, and other word/number games, but most especially to his family.

Roger was predeceased by his parents Roger and Mary Proctor. He is survived by his wife Marjorie Proctor; son Andrew Proctor; daughters Jennifer (Mac) Barnes and Nancy (Paul) Bieschke; grandchildren Michael and Rachel Barnes, and Harrison and Mason Bieschke; brother Michael (Bobbie) Proctor; sisters Mary Ellen Antonio and Karen Proctor; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 6501 Pennywell Drive, Nashville, Tennessee, on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 3:00pm, with a reception/visitation beforehand at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. David’s Episcopal Church (https://www.saintdavidsnashville.org/), a community he loved dearly.
