Shirley Finley

Shirley D. Finley, age 77 of Smyrna, TN, formerly of Newark, NY, passed away June 1, 2015 in Nashville, TN, with grandson Mike Provo at her side.Shirley was born February 4, 1938 in Rochester, NY and was the daughter of William C. Hartman and Mildred Rogers Hartman. She was the Regional Representative in Marketing for the Wayne Co, NY based McDonald's Restaurants. She was active in the Newark Chamber of Commerce and Women's Business Counsel.Away from work, Shirley believed in service. In early years she taught Sunday School in Palmyra, NY, and dedicated a great amount of time teaching adult literacy programs. She believed education and literacy were keys to success.In her personal time she loved to paint – primarily in oils - landscapes, barns and bridges.No matter the individual memories her family and friends will have of her, they will all remember her as a "strong" woman of character, service, dedication and loyalty.Shirley is survived by her four children: Kenneth Holley Jr, Gregory Woelkers, Allen Woelkers and April Bradley; brother: Robert Hartman; sister: Patty Ridley; eight grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.Her family will celebrate her life with services and final burial in Newark, NY at a later date.NASHVILLE FUNERAL AND CREMATION
