William John Slavin, known to most as Bill or “Wild Bill” in his younger days, passed away on July 26, 2025, in Nashville, TN, close to his family at the age of 74. Born on September 28, 1950, in Oakland, CA, Bill lived a full and spirited life.
In the 1970s, Bill migrated south to San Luis Obispo, where he became a beloved figure in the community. As a bartender at Sullys, the Moose Lodge, and Legends Bar in Morro Bay, he earned a reputation as a respected and treasured presence, known for his quick wit, generous spirit, and ability to make everyone feel at home. His time behind the bar was marked by countless stories, laughter, and friendships that endured through the years.
Bill is survived by his son, Sean, and will be remembered as a loving and devoted father. His legacy lives on through the stories and bonds he created.
