Barbara Lee Eslick Dilworth, 83, entered eternal rest and glory February 23, 2020. Originally from Huntsville, AL, “Nana” was born April 3, 1936.
She is survived by family she cherished: sons Robert Jackson Dilworth, Jr. (and Carolynn) of Larchmont, NY and Lee Craig Dilworth (and Julie) of Nashville, TN; grandchildren Andrew Nolan Dilworth, Katharina Elisabeth Heitbaum, Jackson Lee Dilworth, Frederick Lee Dilworth; and former husband, Robert Jackson Dilworth.
She was predeceased by her mother Edna Bernice Cotton, father Robert Lee Eslick, and devoted stepmother Willa “Sweetie” Eslick Buckner.
Nana was an inspiring model of courage, determination and unconditional love. She deeply loved and served her Lord, her family and her friends. Her family will forever be thankful for her legacy of character and countless entertaining memories. At 4’11”, she was a pint-sized woman with an oversized presence, especially in our hearts. Slow to judge and quick to forgive, she modeled to her children and grandchildren a natural sensitivity to those who might feel excluded, rejected or forgotten.
Her family extends its deep gratitude to her attentive caregivers at Morningside of Belmont in Nashville and Vanderbilt University Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, please consider supporting the American Diabetes Association, 220 Great Circle Road, Nashville, TN 37228 or online, at www.callnfc.com
Celebratory event to be announced.
