Carol Sue Price

December 14, 2019 - December 14, 2019
In Memorial

Carol Sue Price (nee Trevathan), 71, passed away on November 24th, 2014, at her daughter’s home in Hendersonville, TN surrounded by her children and grandchildren.  Born on December 21st, 1942, in Martin, TN to Ellis Trevathan and Rosa White, Sue, as she was known, grew up in Gleason, TN and graduated from Gleason High School.  After graduation, Sue attended Lambuth College, where she met her future husband James K. Price.  The two were married on June 28th 1964, in Gleason, TN and moved to Madison, NJ, where her husband, Jim, attended Drew University, and later, Seminary.  She was now the wife of a Methodist Minister. Sue’s duties as a Minister’s wife did not consume her entirely; she was an interior decorator/designer with her own business, and had a knack for finding, restoring, and collecting beautiful antiques, which she cleverly placed in her home.  She always knew how to transform something ordinary and make it elegant. Jim and Sue were happily married for 33 years, until she was widowed in 1996.  After her husband’s death, she moved back to her beloved state of TN to be closer to her parents and siblings.  She bought a house in the historic district of East Nashville and proceeded to work her decorating “magic” on her beautifully restored craftsman home.  For many years, her house was featured in a tour run by the East Nashville Historic Society. Sue was a loving daughter, mother, aunt, sister, and wife.  She was beautiful, clever, truthful, and cool.  There will never be another “Christmas Carol.” She is survived by her four children: Shaunda Kohls, of Hendersonville, TN; Anita Delihasani, of Franklin, NJ; Ken Price of Nashville, TN; and Reuben Price, of Savannah, GA.  Sue is also survived by five sisters: Rubye Snider of Gleason, TN; Kaye Hynds of Martin, TN; Rosemary Evans of Tupelo, MS; Nancy Wyman of Cookeville, TN; and Anita Knowles of Franklin, TN; many nieces and nephews, and ten grandchildren. At Sue’s request, a party has been planned to celebrate her life.  It will be held at the Kohls residence on March 21st, 2015. If you would like to be included, please e-mail smkohls@comcast.net.  Please share your condolences and/or memories on-line at nshvillcremate.wpengine.com; e-mail them to Shaunda Kohls or simply send them to Shaunda Kohls 104 Pembroke Ct. Hendersonville, TN, 37075.
