Dorothea (Dot) Gladys LaFever, 83, of Cookeville passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, June 27, 2019 in Lebanon TN.
Born Dorothea Gladys Clark in Charleston, West Virginia on November 7, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Jesse Cicero Clark and Gladys Drucilla Carter.
Dot was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Alan LaFever on November 6, 2014.
Dot leaves behind a very dysfunctional family that she is very proud of. Two children Wayne (Wonderful) Lawless of Seattle, WA and Charlotte (Chris) Buchanan of Lebanon, TN as well as her sister Mary (Tootie) Jones of Knoxville, TN. She is also survived by her four grandchildren David (Michelle) Walker; Brandy Worman; Adam Lawless; and Nathan Lawless in addition to her 6-3/4 great-grandchildren Tyler Slagle; Kelsey Hawkins; Trevor Walker; and Luke Lawless; Claire Lawless; Grace Lawless and Baby Lawless.
Dot was a devoted lover of animals first and foremost. She treasured all her animals including racoons, rabbits, squirrels or any animal that came to her door! Dot was known for her sweet demeanor but also for not holding back her opinion and a knack for telling it like it is! She was very much a Southern Belle so if you were not proficient, you might not know “exactly” what her southern drawn words REALLY meant!
Please join us for a celebration of Dot’s life that will be held at her daughter’s home on Saturday, July 20, 2019 beginning at 2 PM.
126 South Tarver Avenue Lebanon, TN
